Road Trip to Louisville: Agricultural Equipment Technology Conference

DISTek will be taking over Louisville, Kentucky next week. We have plans to host a supplier technology display at the Agricultural Equipment Technology Conference (AETC) hosted by ASABE (American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers). The AETC is a three day event held at the Seelbach Hilton that kicks off on Monday, February 13th and concludes on Wednesday, February 15th. The AETC provides a forum for engineering professionals working for, or with, equipment manufacturers and those developing new standards the opportunity to come together to celebrate and grow engineering skills.

NI Week 2016: LabVIEW Champions Track

The 22nd Annual NI Week is slated to begin in Austin, Texas, on August 1st. NI Week provides the forum to bring together the brightest minds in engineering and science. More than 3,200 innovators representing a wide spectrum of industries, from automotive and telecommunications to robotics and energy will converge together to discover the latest technology to accelerate productivity for software-defined systems in test, measurement, and control. While DISTek regularly attends in various capacities, this year we will be making a new showing. Our very own Systems Engineer and LabVIEW expert, Ed Dickens, will be presenting on Wednesday, August 3rd from 4:45-5:45PM. His presentation is the result of National Instruments trying something new. This year, for the first time ever, there will be an advanced software topic track where all the presentation topics and content will be prepared and presented by various “LabVIEW Champions”.

The 2016 AMC Engineering Conference will be held April 19th – 21st at the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center in Waterloo, Iowa. This conference provides a forum for agricultural and off-highway engineers to come together to celebrate and grow engineering skills in the Midwest. DISTek’s involvement in this conference continues to grow every year.

There is a long standing tradition at DISTek around the holiday season. In late November, as we gear up for Thanksgiving break, where we spend time with our families reflecting on all the things we have to be thankful for, simple white boards adorned with green and red tags make an appearance in the break room. These tags list basic necessities and wish list items from local families, who are struggling to make ends meet. This year, DISTek was fortunate enough to be able to adopt two families and play a small role in making their holiday season a little bit brighter.
