Somehow we find ourselves at the beginning of September already and for those of us here at DISTek, it means that the annual SAE COMVEC show is just around the corner. This year’s show will once again be held in Rosemont, Illinois at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare September 11th – 13th. DISTek will be involved in several capacities from sales hosting a booth on the exhibit floor to engineering attending the technical sessions and panels to stay up to date on the latest technology. We are also pleased to have one of our own, Daniel Aceituna, featured in an expert panel discussion.
As promised last year, the DISTek sales team, consisting of Nick and Jim, will be returning to the exhibit floor in booth 209. They will have a new demo on hand this year that highlights our embedded and mobile app development experience. This demo will feature an actual customer product that we played an integral role in bringing to market. Our portable hardware in the loop tester will also make a return trip to COMVEC and be on display. With National Instruments hardware embedded in a rugged Pelican case, this tester offers the advantage of increased lab testing in the absence of a full vehicle. Partnering with MathWorks to incorporate Matlab and Simulink based models showcases the correlation between our testing platform and the real world.
On Tuesday, DISTek will be participating in an expert panel discussion entitled: “The Revolution of Highly Automated Commercial Vehicles: Shaping the Evolution of Today’s Trucks to Help Drivers Deliver Value.” During this event, each panel participant will give a short presentation on some aspect of the discussion topic. DISTek’s own Daniel Aceituna will be a panelist and will present some suggestions for “Making Functional Safety in Autonomous Vehicles appealing to Engineers.” The discussion topics will include Advance Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and its potential to reduce risk and keep drivers safe, along with the challenges and opportunities of technology developers as they tackle this complex topic. After the presentations, the panelists will further discuss the topic in front of an audience, who will then have an opportunity to ask questions. The panel will meet on Tuesday, September 11th, at 3:30 p.m. CST, in the Grand Ballroom D of the Hyatt Regency O’Hare. All are welcomed to attend – for further information, click here.
We’re looking forward to seeing you at this year’s COMVEC. Stop by booth 209 to say “Hi” to Nick and Jim and check out our new demo and be sure to fit Dan’s expert panel into your schedule plans!
