Halloween is arguably my favorite holiday and DISTek’s Annual Halloween Costume Contest never disappoints. However, in true 2020 fashion, things looked a bit different this year. We knew in the months heading into the fall season that we probably would not be able to assemble together in our training room for the traditional parade of costumes, so we set out to come up with a virtual event to stand in its place. Many of our regulars, and even some normally camera shy DISTekians, appeared for a group photo (above).
On Friday, October 30th, we all convened virtually to attend a Halloween Spooktactular event jointly hosted by our Culture Committee and our ESOP Communications Committee. The event featured triple the fun: The annual Halloween costume contest, a pumpkin carving contest, and a special ESOP vesting recognition for those employee owners that are 100% vested, in celebration of October being Employee Ownership Month. Carole Baskin, of Tiger King fame, was hands down the winner of our not-so-scientific “best costume” poll, walking away with some additional spending money to contribute to next year’s costume.
We hope you enjoy viewing some of our costumes as much as we enjoyed making and showcasing them.
