AUTOSAR: Sender/Receiver Statuses & Queued Communication

In this blog, I will cover some tools to improve reliability and accuracy of data reception when using sender/receiver ports. AUTOSAR sender/receiver ports provide several configurations for improving reliability and accuracy. Two of which I will expand on are invalidation policy and queued communication. Invalidation policies are used for flagging data as unreliable and queued communication provides a means of storing and ordering received data to prevent data loss.

Reducing Bugs with Simulink Dashboards

Have you ever played the game “telephone”? It’s where you have a line of people and starting on one end someone whispers something into someone’s ear. That message is then passed on to the next person and so on and so on. Once it reaches the final person, you may find out that the message was misinterpreted. “Big dog” may have changed to “bed bug”. This is one of the major problems that have plagued software design and something I see on a regular basis. Engineers receive requirements that were already passed down through other people, so the engineer is left to interpret them the best they can.

Precision Agriculture: The Future of Farming

Food production, specifically agriculture, is a crucial component in the expansion of civilizations. As populations grow, the need for more food rises. The gathering of data is the new frontier in advancement for agriculture technology. The more known about the field the better it can be nurtured. Precision agriculture is defined as “the application of technologies and principles to manage spatial and temporal variability associated with all aspects of agricultural production for the purpose of improving crop performance and environmental quality.” [1].
